Karen Schneider has a very interesting post on the ALA TechSource blog about how OPACs suck. For years we've been feeling depth charges rumbling throughout this profession: MARC, some say, should die, and traditional cataloging ain't lookin' too good, either. It's time to dis-integrate the catalog, weave it into the Web, and push forward to the future. Amen.
